The Past Three Weeks

We have been taking a lot of pictures of these cute kids of mine as of late. Here are some of our favorites as well as some of our stories.

Zachary suns himself when we are fortunate enough to have sun. When he does, Nara is always wanting to be by his side helping him be happy, calling him sweetheart, and being a good big sister. Her job is to give him his pacifier when he is crying.
I have found him several times holding his own pacifier.

Grant and his family came over and Noah got to hold his cousin. He was so cute, a little unsure, and done after a few minutes. He had a lot of fun with Nara, who was his little shadow. She loves that kid so much. she was taking him all over the house playing.

Nara has been a big help. She is doing pretty well with the transition of having a new baby in the house. Besides thinking that everything is hers, she is still my happy sunshiney girl.

What a handsome boy. He is already such a sweetheart. He is also so alert and observant. I think he looks like Chris. What do you say Morgans?

My loving girl is always giving her brother hugs and especially kisses.

Nara loves watching Dancing with the Stars and many times when she hears the music she dances along. One time she went up to her daddy and said, "Dance with me, Daddy, dance with me!" They then proceeded to dance around the room. So we were watching The Sound of Music with my mom and Grandma when she did the same thing to Grandma. "Come dance with me, Grandma!" They then danced around the room as much as Grandma was able.

Playing around the yard at Grandma's

When Zach was born we gave Nara a new baby whom she named Minnie. She loves this baby! She takes her with her when she brushes her teeth, goes to sleep, reads scriptures and prays. In this photo, Nara is reading to Minnie using the doll hand to point to things in the pictures. So cute!

My little family! Chris loves coming home to his kids. He is such a great daddy and a good  help to me .

Nara and I needed some play time so we changed the beds together. Fun right!? Well we decided to have a pillow fight and a jumping into pillow session.

She got some good air here. My girl can jump.

Yeah it doesn't really promote not jumping on beds, but we have all jumped on our parents beds at one time or another. Plus, we had a good time and let off some steam and stress.

Nara looks a whole lot bigger next to her baby bro.

I love how he is studying her. He is almost as long as her arm.

What a fantastic bunch of kids I have. I absolutely adore my children!

Baby Zachary Morgan!

Our baby is here! We are pleased to welcome our new arrival Zachary **** Morgan, born March 18th. The *** indicate a special surprise that will be revealed on his blessing day. We discussed two names and I told Chris to pick. I chose Zach and he gets to choose the middle name.
So the labor was awesome! I started with contractions at five to eleven on Saturday night, went to the hospital and checked in at 12:05 and had the baby at 1:41 a.m. My Dr. said that the second baby would be faster than the four hours it took with Nara. I had no idea he meant that fast. Here are a few pictures of baby Zach. I will write more later, but I'm tired and am going to bed. I just want to get some pictures out right now and let you all get a glimpse of our beautiful boy. Nara loves him and is so cute and helpful. Keep an eye out for more stories to come. Until then... My baby and I are going to sleep. :)
Love the hair!

There was a kitchen just by my room with chocolate milk in the fridge. Nara loved coming to visit because it meant that she got to drink chocolate milk. What a cutie!

This girl is such a big help already. She loves holding her baby brother and talks to him constantly. She tells him to be happy when he is sad, sings to him, and makes sure he is warm enough. She also tells him, on her own, that she loves him and gives him kisses on the top of his head. What an awesome big sister she is.

Random Moments

Nara and I have had some fun moments over the past couple of weeks. Here are some pictures and video of some of our adventures.

I was doing things in the back of the house and when I came up I found  her asleep so soundly on the pillow in the family room.

Our latest sewing project was a new tent for Nara's room. We switched rooms recently so that the baby could have the closer bedroom. I wanted to make her new room super cool so we made this. She absolutely loves it. Her favorite thing is that we get to read scriptures in it. There are lots of pillows inside and even some twinkly lights. It is pretty comfortable and even Mom. Dad  and Uncle John have fallen asleep in there from time to time.

Nara has taken to the idea of coming in our room at night and crawling into bed with us. We told her that she wasn't allowed in our bed until the sun came up. She has done pretty well with it, but still comes in. Mostly to get a drink of water. After the surgery she has needed it. Now, rather than crawling into our bed, she's started curling up on the pillows on the side of the bed. Sometimes I didn't even know that she is there.  She has done it enough that now i have a blanket on the end of our bed that I put over her.

Nara loves corn on the cob. We recently got some in our neighborhood fruit/veggie co-op. She ate an entire ear this night for dinner. It was so cute. I had to get video of her saying, "Yum, Yum" every time she took a bite. Of course, as soon as I pulled out the camera, she stopped. I waited for a little bit, that's why it's a little long, but it is still cute of her.

In an attempt to help Nara get over her thumb sucking habit, I have started putting puppets on her thumb that look like different things. Yesterday, it was Thumbalina; Today a tiger. It does work some. Yesterday she left it on for six hours. Today she managed to bite it off. Both days she has come to me and said, "Mommy, take it off please." Yesterday on the way home from Grandma's she asked me to take it off then added, "Suck thumb, please? Can I suck please?"

Reading on Mommy and Daddy's bed. This girl loves her books.

Happy Birthday, Nara. You get surgery!

Happy Birthday Nara! She had such a wonderful birthday celebration with family from Roy and So Cal. My fam was up for Christmas and was able to celebrate with us before they headed back down.  She had so much fun eating Kalua Pork, frog cupcakes and opening gifts. She was so tickled when everyone started singing her Happy Birthday and giggled the whole time with a huge smile. Our camera ran out of battery so the other pictures and video we have are on Chris' phone and will be posted when I remember to do it. Face it, I have preggie brain and tend to forget things unless I tattoo them to my forehead. :)
Our other news is that soon after Nara's birthday, we took her her in to her two year wellness check and found out she had ear infections. She never let us know because of her high pain tolerance. Thanks for passing that one on, Daddy.  She has had a few of them so we decided to go see an ENT. To make a long story short, he recommended that she has tubes put in and tonsils and adenoids removed due to her snoring, size of tonsils, and the way that she was drinking and breathing at the doctor's office. I had it done when I was her age so it really wasn't shocking when we got the news.
We figured it would be a month or so before it would happen, but it was all in a two week time frame from the initial appointment.
The following is a sup up of the day from some emails that we sent out to family.

She loved her hospital jammies that she got to wear.
While we waited, we got to play with bubbles.
Nara was so cute running around in her clothes and popping them

We got to the hospital at 8:45 to register for her surgery at 10:15. She knew we were going to the hospital today and was kind of excited. We went over how the doctor was going to fix her ears ant throat enough so she could repeat it if asked.  She took her favorite puppy with her for comfort and she even got to wear her favorite kitty pj's and sparkly socks. This helped later when we were getting her dressed again.
Playing Wii with Daddy. She kept pushing one button over and over again.
She was a totally different girl when on the Versed.
Showing off the new anklet tag
Loving the new jammies

The doctor was running behind so Nara's surgery was pushed back by a half hour. She had a good time playing with the toys, reading books, and watching Cinderella. We talked to the nurse about them giving her some versed so when she went under anesthesia, it wouldn't be quite so traumatic. Otherwise, the nurse said they hold down the kids, crying and scared, until they get knocked out by the gas. I didn't have the heart to put Nara through that. She would be scared enough not having us there, let alone having strangers hold a mask on her face. Yikes! So we gave her the medicine and she was so subdued when it was time to go back. She got to ride in a wagon, which she thought was pretty cool, and take her puppy with her. We walked back as far as we could then kissed her goodbye. She cried out a little, but was so relaxed she was okay.
When she first had her tag she thought it was pretty cool.
After she came out of surgery, she kept asking Daddy to take it off.
She even said "please" through the tears.

She loved the fact that she got to ride in a wagon.

40 min later, the doctor came out with a good report that she was out and in recovery. About ten min. after that I got to go back after she woke up and be with her. Chris came back later. She had a hard time coming out of the anesthesia, she was crying and upset when I got to her, but after about five minutes she calmed down as I got to hold her. She fell back asleep and when she woke up the second time was more like herself, tired and groggy, but talking and asking for songs to be sung to her. She was able to drink some juice and have some root beer slushy too. She liked the slushy quite a bit. We got to go home as soon as her oxygen levels stayed up where they needed to be.
He recover was pretty good. This girl is a trooper. She was off the meds after a week and acting like herself within a few days. She loved eating all of the Popsicles, pudding, and applesauce she could dream of. During this time, she learned how to open the freezer drawer so she could get her own. Finally after she grunted and grimaced and worked so hard to get it open,, she ran over to me at the table and proclaimed in an excited voice, "I did it. Mommy! I did it!" She ran back only to see that it had closed and had to do it again. She said, sadly, "Oh no!" when she saw that it had closed. What a cutie. We go in next week for a post-op appointment. Cross your fingers that all went well. We have already seen a great difference in her sleeping. Now, she is so quiet that we have to check to see if she is breathing. She is! She just doesn't snore anymore. Yea!

Christmas! 2011

Christmas morning we woke up and made an omelette and played while we waited for daddy to get up and out of bed. We had a pretty relaxed morning, waiting to open presents and stockings until after breakfast. Little did I know I would be sick that morning. It was my own fault for taking a vitamin along with my thyroid medicine. Silly, me. So after a few hours of yuck, we finally got to open stockings and one gift for Nara. It was a new Sunday dress that I wanted her to have for church that afternoon.

videoDinner was amazing! Cornish game hens with a cranberry glaze, fresh salad, stuffing, and coconut yams. Mmmm! The memories. It was my first time eating the hens. Yum!After dinner is when we FINALLY opened up gifts and Nara got to see what Santa brought her. I don't think we could have pulled off the lateness of gifting any other year, but Nara was cool with it.
